Dear Students, Parents and Friends,

2009 has gone by as fast as 2008. When I returned following my gall bladder surgery and Hong Kong trip, the holiday season was upon us: Christmas, New Year 2010 and then the Chinese New Year of the Tiger. Happy Holiday season to all my friends, parents and dear students!

Our annual Chinese New Year gala will be celebrated on February 6, 2010. The festivities will be held at Maxim’s, the largest restaurant in Chinatown with an 8-course round of gourmet dishes. There will be Sifu’s demos from different schools across the U.S. along with our very own Team White Leopard and our future members of the team and champions from our children’s class. Our fantastic Dragon and Lion Dances will also be performed to bring in the New Year of the Tiger.

As with any successful event, we need your support and participation. With limited seating, please buy your tickets early from Mrs. Lee.

This year the Tai Chi workshop will be held on Friday, February 5 from 5:30 – 8:30pm. I will teach the advanced Tai Chi Saber Thirteen Postures, also known as the Single Blade Straight Sword. It is a rare form combining Vanguard Masters' fighting technique of flying shuriken (throwing star) with saber plus 1/3 of straight sword technique using My Jhong footwork and body movement. This classical advanced form is beautiful yet practical and rarely seen in either internal or external styles. The workshop for this jewel of Wu's Style and My Jhong Law Horn has limited space; we can teach only around 50 students. Please register early to assure your place. The cost is $220 per person. You will cherish this cultural heritage of Chinese Kung Fu.
